When you’re TOO EXHAUSTED to think straight

Nine years ago, my partner Katja and I hit a brick wall: two kids under three years, demanding full-time jobs, no headspace and no time to make good decisions.

We were exhausted parents lurching from task to task, reacting rather than leading our lives…

So we did something unusual: we left the kids with their grandparents, escaped for 5 days and - armed with Post-its, markers and flip-charts - we workshopped our life.

We laid everything out: our health, our relationship, our work, our values, the kind of parents we wanted to be. It was intense, clarifying, and transformational (we wouldn’t have had our third child, sold our house, moved to Germany or started WITHIN without this process).

We’ve repeated this ritual every year since and turned it into something you can use, too (minus the grandparents!):

Introducing: The “Workshop Your Life” Toolkit

If you’re ending the year tired, stretched or simply in need of clarity, this toolkit is for you…

It’s a practical, 9-part PDF designed to help you review your year, learn from it, and make higher-quality decisions for the next one. It distils what worked well for us (and many others since) into a structured set of exercises you can do alone or with a partner.

Whether you’re a founder, leader, parent, team member or simply a human navigating a complex world, this toolkit helps you make space to pause, reflect and reset.

Why now?

The end of the year is one of the few moments when life naturally slows down. Around the Winter Solstice (the shortest day of the year) many cultures pause intentionally: Rauhnächte, the Twelve Days of Christmas, Yalda Night, Makar Sankranti.

It’s a global invitation to reflect.
Professionally and personally, this is the ideal time to step out of reactive mode and regain strategic clarity. For your life, not just your work.

A realistic heads-up

This is not a quick-fix worksheet. It’s a 5-6 hour workshop which will need your full attention (no phones allowed)! But the clarity you’ll gain is worth every minute.

Wishing you rest, clarity and intention!

Felix

PS: While this idea was initially created by two INTJs (Katja and myself), people with other types of brains have found it useful once some healthy scepticism was overcome… ;) ⬇️ ⬇️
